What’s in a name? One often can’t tell much about a church from its name. Sometimes they have names that sound catchy or inviting, or bear the name of a particular denomination. But such names don’t usually tell you much about who the people really are or what they believe. Not so with “Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek.” For over 250 years our name has stood for who we are, what we believe, our history, our mission and our Lord. Our name says it all!

1. CHRIST - Our Lord

Our name doesn’t begin with “St.” or “First” but Christ! Christ is the first word in our name because our faith in Jesus Christ is the most important thing about us. He alone is the Rock of our faith and our reason for being. He shed His blood to purchase our salvation. He rose from the dead and reigns as our Lord. To Christ alone be all Glory, Honor and Praise!

2. REFORMED - Our Legacy

Our history goes back to the German-Swiss Reformation, which taught that our salvation is by God’s grace alone, received through faith alone in Christ and that our lives are to be lived according to the Bible alone, not church tradition or decree. Though years have passed and times have changed, some things should never change. Our Reformed faith remains as steadfast as our Lord. And by God’s grace we will pass on this timeless faith to our children.

3. CHURCH - Our Love

Though we worship in a beautiful and historic church building, our church is much more than bricks and mortar. We are the Family of God, bound together by love. We gather each Sunday morning, not out of duty or necessity but because we love our Heavenly Father and because we love our brothers and sisters in Christ. We worship together, we learn together, we laugh and cry together, and we will work together, to build Christ’s Church until He returns.

4. at INDIAN CREEK - Our Location

With God there are no accidents. By His sovereign plan He has placed us at Indian Creek to be his witnesses. As our Church steeple stands high for all Indian Creek to see, God calls us to live out our lives at our places of employment, our schools, our neighborhoods and with our friends, so that all may see Christ and come to know Him as their Savior. And as Christ commanded the early Church to go into all the world, our mission is still to reach our world with the Good News.

Yes, our name does say it all! Or almost all There is one thing that is missing; YOU! If you are not part of an evangelical, Bible believing Church, we warmly invite you and your family to worship, fellowship and explore the Word of God with us!
