Missions at Christ Reformed Church Our purpose for missions is based on the belief that as Christians, we are to present the person of the Lord Jesus Christ in word and deed to a lost world: by being His witnesses according to the command in Acts1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We support missionaries as close as Souderton, Philadelphia, and Allentown as well as North Carolina and states along the East Coast. Some of our missionaries serve in Papua New Guinea, Northern Africa including Cameroon, Guyana, South America, Austria, and England as well as India. Our missionaries are with these agencies:
Sub committees include: Mission Awareness Committee (MAC): This group helps the Church be aware of the missionaries we support by having an annual Mission Sunday. At other times during the year a visiting missionary will have a “Mission Moment” during the worship service. They provide lunch for the congregation when our missionaries are on furlough and in our area. Outreach Committee: Their goal is to reach the unchurched and unsaved for Christ in the community though printed publications and church sponsored activities and events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, and annual Peach Festival. Short Term Mission Committee: Along with supporting the work of missions in our local church, this committee organizes short-term projects and interests members in participating. The purpose of a short-term trip is to assist those less fortunate by doing repair work in homes or at Indian Reservation schools and at times for mission agency headquarters. During these trips, they strive to present the Gospel either through their work or by communication. |
