Happy Mother's Day!
It may seems strange to call the day Jesus was crucified "Good". When you think about it, Jesus was betrayed by one of His own Disciples, Judas Iscariot the night before (Maundy Thursday). He was arrested, tried before the Sanhedrin in a kangaroo court of false witnesses and blind ignorance. He was handed over to Pontius Pilate (the Roman Authorities). Our Creed succinctly says Jesus "suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried". What could possibly be "good" about Good Friday?
